47 in a 40

This morning at about 4:40am, Pumpkin was driving to swim practice.  When he looked in his rearview mirror, there were flashing blue lights.  Yes.  Mr. Policeman pulled him over.  He was going 47 in a 40 zone.  The officer took his license and asked him where he was going.  Pumpkin politely responded that he was going to swim practice at the nearby school.  Thankfully, the policeman let him go.  He told Pumpkin that they were having some trouble in "those" neighborhoods (of which, we do not know) and that he was not the person he was looking for.

I bet Pumpkin was wide awake for practice!  I am grateful there is not a ticket involved.  Part of me wonders if he was stopped because he is driving a '96 vehicle, a rarity in these parts.

The best part is a mom of another swimmer saw that it was Pumpkin and she got all worked up.  I appreciated her worrying for my son.

What a way to start the day!

Move in Future

I realize these pictures are blurry.  About ten photos on two different cameras were taken and all of them were blurry.  We did not know the photographer.  In this day and age of iphones, it surprises me that holding your hand steady is not second nature.

Someone is planning on moving.  Can you guess?  I'll give you a clue.  She is not smiling.
The place is very nice.  The walls are going to be painted a neutral off-white early in the week.
My prayer is for a smooth move and even better transition.  Aforementioned mover, deserves this and much much more!

Cumme Laude Induction

Pumpkin was honored on Thursday night with the induction into Cumme Laude.  It is a group comprised of the top 10% of his high school class.  This picture is horrible that I snapped on my iphone.  But, wanted to document the achievement.
On a better camera, a picture was snapped of the three swimmers that were inducted.  Considering the team is only 40 swimmers, that is pretty good representation.  These three boys have lots of smarts!
I enjoyed putting names with faces and getting a feel for the achievers.  It is a good addition to his resume.

Now, if he could just finish the essays for his college apps!
