Shop or Not?

My dad used to look forward to shopping on Black Friday.  At times, it seemed like he did not do much shopping, but used the day to evaluate the economy.  He'd pay attention to what stores were open.  He'd pay attention to what people were buying.  We have fond memories of getting up to just to experience the energy.

I bought the boys one gift last week.  We are struggling with whether we need to go out and bond with the crowds.  Part of me feels compelled to just go out in my dad's memory.  My siblings hit the outlet mall north of Cincinnati on Thanksgiving night.  Crazy!  Even my mom joined in.  It would have been fun to be with them, but I probably saved myself a few dollars.

What to do?  What to do?

I woke up about 4am and checked the Apple Black Friday deals.  We slowly got up and walked the dog.  By the time we got to Target, there wasn't much of a crowd.  We picked up a few presents that were on sale.  The silly Macy's coupons lured me in.  I wanted to buy myself another pair of jeans.  I should have known better.  The coupon did not apply to those.  I wish they'd get rid of coupons.  We walked in, around and out of Sports Authority.  Just couldn't find what we were thinking of.  It wasn't the most productive, shopping-wise, but it was fun hanging out with my sweetie.  We stopped at an East Memphis donut place, Gibson's.  I had a very yummy buttermilk drop.  We took some back to the boys. Peanut is feeling better.  Yahoo! As for gifts, I am gonna resort to ordering some on the internet.  Tomorrow I hope to help out small business Saturday and will definitely be geared up for cyber Monday.

I hope you found what you were looking for today! I did some armchair shopping and am now done with my family. Now for the parents (?)... I never know what to get them!
