Love the View

As I sit on the couch and gaze across the room, I love seeing Pumpkin there!  I think Buddy does too.  Look at him out-like-a-light with his back against the chair.   Enjoying the time together!

Visiting

Sunday we went to visit my inlaws.  Who knew it was so hard to get everyone to look at the camera.

Track Hardware

Peanut walked away with lots of track hardware!  Very proud and excited to see how he does at State.  Most proud of the comments from coach about his work ethic, integrity and humility.

Bi-Annual Selfie

This is always one of my favorite pictures!  It only means one thing.  We are going to savor the next three weeks!!

Bean Sprouts

A picture from last week - before cadets scattered.  You can see all the trunks lined ready for all their stuff.  Lots of full trunks get packed away if the cadet is traveling all summer.  Pumpkin just had to move rooms.  He will be calling Connecticut home for lots of the summer.

This is a lineage of bean sprouts and all swimmers.  A bean sprout is a high school student that spends the night with a cadet.  The guy in the middle is about to graduate and ready to soar!  The life long friendships are what helps them make it through.
T-18 hours and counting!  I'll get to give my boy a hug!  Wahoo!

Scooter Weather

The Big Guy's gotten in a few days on his scooter.  The weather has been fabulous this spring.  This week the mornings are cool.  It is warming up some, but is absolutely beautiful.

Mother's Day 2015

Pumpkin got the award!  He was the first to wish me Happy Mother's Day.  He called at 12am and woke us up!  All we could do was smile and laugh.

We went to mass and then headed to a favorite breakfast place.
Peanut ordered Eggs Benedict for the first time ever in his life!
We spend some time with David's parents.  The boys were good sports and took me to a pop up Urban Market.  There was lots of vintage items.  I bought some local made candles.  The guys made dinner, homemade veggie pizza and strawberry shortcakes.  Yum!

I was told we will celebrate again this weekend when everyone is home.  You can rest assured that I am going to milk that!  Can't wait!

Track and Field Sectionals 2015

Does he look ready for the one and two mile?  It was a warm one!
He pulled it off.  He qualified for State in the one and two mile races!
The Big Guy donned his sun cap that Pumpkin gave him.  It kept the sun off.
It was nice having "fans" at the meet, some alums and a special someone.  This picture is adorable!
The last run at State will be fun.   Pumpkin gets to see Peanut run!!

Inherited Roses

When we cleaned out my inlaws house a few years ago, Pumpkin dug up some scraggly rose bushes and replanted them in our yard.  For years, my inlaws grew lovely roses in three dedicated beds.  For whatever reason, they got rid of all of them.  The plants Pumpkin dug up were volunteers in their raised beds.  They did not do much last year in our yard.  But, this year, we have flowers!  They warm my heart!

Look closely at this last picture.  There are two more buds on the plant.
Now.  I have to remember to take time and go outside and look at the rose bushes.

Magnolia Planted

Last year we dug out the two storm damaged maples.  The Big Guy put sod down and it grew beautifully.  We finally bit the bullet and added another tree to the front yard.  It is a Little Gem magnolia and should fill the space perfectly.  Remind me in a few years when the leaves make a mess that I chose this tree.  I love the color, texture and depth of the leaves.  It doesn't hurt that they are quintessentially part of the South.  Hope we can keep it alive.  There are blooms on it and we can't wait to see them open!
