"New" Grill

Our grill has been out of commission for quite some time.

A few weeks go, we started looking for a new one.

We'd like to have a Green Egg, but just did not know.

The Big Guy decided to rebuild the one we had.

With some help from Pumpkin, they cleaned it out...

 They sprayed it with new paint...

They ordered new insides and put it all back together...

We had some yummy burgers and some wonderful filets this weekend.  We even ate outside on Saturday night.  We needed sweatshirts.  I even made the kids drag the cards out.  We played a few games of spoons on the patio.  Peanut needs to brush up his spoon game!  Savored the moment!

So very glad that we have a grill back...

Candy Bar Bouquet

Pumpkin had an 18th birthday party to go to on Saturday night.  It was a party for a girl from school.  We came up with this idea and he went to town.  I'm keeping this in my arsenal and gonna use it again!  He had fun at the party.  It was a pajama party.  They wore PJ's and had breakfast for dinner.  It thought that was a great idea too!

On a more somber note, my mom had a TIA (aka mini-stroke) on Tuesday night.  She felt a tingling in her arm and jaw.  She knew that wasn't right.  The squad took her to the hospital.  She stayed the night for observation.  Fortunately, all looks good!  Apparently, the doc was surprised with all she does, how good her memory is, and her general well being.  The most stressful part was waiting a long time for her discharge.  She'll be on a blood thinner to prevent a stroke.  I haven't talked to her yet.  But, will give her a call today.

Twenty One Years!

April 11th, many years ago, was the first time we met.

I keep reminding myself that Pumpkin means well.  Lately, his been pushing lots of my buttons!!

The Big Guy took Friday off and we enjoyed the day together.  We cleaned up the house, started the laundry, walked the dog, and ate lunch at Cheffie's, a wonderful casual place.  It was a nice treat.

Bike to Work

Got a new job close to home
Weather is fabulous

Rode my bike to/fro work
Slung a messenger bag over my shoulder

Ate lunch at the office
Got to hang with the staff that watches Bold & Beautiful
Don't think I'll get hooked - gotta come up with an alternative

The riding was lovely
My legs are sore, but I keep tellin' myself that I have to start somewhere.

Easter Sunrise Mass

We kept the tradition and got up early this morning for Easter Sunday Sunrise Mass.  The weather was beautiful with a chill in the air.  There was a breeze.  It was moving to watch the leaves on trees blow in the wind.

This was a wonderful start to the day even though we all look a bit tired!  Happy Easter!

Soda!

This year, I gave up soda for Lent.  I did not slip up, but I did miss the carbonation.  I had a few Izze drinks.  They seemed a bit too sweet.  More or less, I made the conversion to water or iced tea.

I struggled with whether or not to give the soda up for good.  I decided to try one again and see how it tasted.  I do like the carbonation.  I think I will let myself have one here or there.  I may even try club soda with a splash of fruit and see if that works.

I will think before I buy more soda.  For now, I am going to slowly drink the ones we have in the fridge.
