It's been a laborious process, one that Pumpkin does not mind missing out on! We used to have two 30+ feet maples in this spot. The trees suffered storm damage and the roots were taking over the yard. So, we cut them down, had the roots ground. Moved the new mulch to our beds and put down the sod. It looks amazing and the sod is turning green. The Big Buy is very focused and won't forget to water. We are going to plant another tree, but not in the same spot and not until the fall. That was the initial plan, but I toil with risking the summer heat and planting that tree!
Friday morning breakfast was yummy. Banana bread fresh from the oven.We did lots of yard work on Saturday trimming one set of birch trees and cleaning out the bed that goes with the trees. It is amazing how wild things get after a bit of neglect. We still have so much work to do. Slow and steady…
We treated ourselves to Central BarBQ after working so hard. We hadn't been there in some time. It was yummy.
For Mother's Day, we went to my SIL sharing brunch with them. My boys planned a dinner cooking it all. It was lovely. They made a lemon meringue pie from scratch. Peanut decorated the top. How cute is that? Guess what? They forgot to bake the crust first. I bypassed that and enjoyed one of the best lemon meringue I've ever had!
Peanut set the table using the special day plate we normally reserve for birthdays.
It was a nice treat to have dinner made for me. We all enjoyed it! Well, maybe not the Big Guy. He doesn't mind grilling, but doesn't not like to cook. Gotta love him!
