Moving Day

We did it!  On Saturday, we got my inlaws moved in a few hours.  What team work!  They certainly raised some good kids who pulled together and made it happen.  I pray my boys took notes!

The Big Guy, Peanut, two BILs, a nephew, Pumpkin and I packed, loaded, unloaded, unpacked and decorated.  During this time, my SILs took their parents on an adventure around town.  My FIL was onboard.

Much to everyone's surprise, my MIL walked right in to the new place and noticed all her stuff around.  It could not have gone any better.

Here is the happy couple in their new place.
The charcoals above the couch are of their children.  They were drawn by a street artist in Jackson Square, New Orleans in 1970.  All enjoy looking at them.  Who knew simple sketches would bring so much pleasure.  The Big Guy hung them up in random order.  The pictures were quickly switched to birth order.  Too funny!

On Sunday, the kids headed back to the house and cleaned it up a bit.  We brought a few more things over to them.  We got to hang out while they enjoyed an ice cream social in the lobby.  The place is nicely decorated and all the people seem so friendly.

I snapped a few photos before my SIL headed back to Philly.  Here are the girls with their mom.
Here are the siblings that were in town for the move.  The move is a stress relief.  I think you can see that in the smiles.

Another one with mom and dad~
Even one that is silly~
We went to their house today and did the yard.  We decided to take the day off and not go see them.  It will give them a chance to settle in.  My boys will head over there tomorrow to meet them for lunch.

There are lots of emotions swirling in everyone's heads.  But, I think most are releaved that they are in a safe place.  We are all bracing ourselves for a few bumps in the road.  But, so far so good!

One lesson learned - get rid of stuff!!

I'm relieved to hear it went smoothly! What a great family! I'm sure it was good for them all to be together for this. I love the drawings. They remind me of silhouettes that my Grandparents had of my mom and aunts and uncle. Now I wish I had done something like that. Sending a hug for all of your work! You guys need to do something fun now.
