But, having visitors is a great excuse to try some local hangouts. We tried an authentic fried chicken place call Uncle Lou's. It was featured on The Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The chicken was phenom. The corn nuggets reminded me of corn fritters, a personal favorite. The setting wasn't anything fancy, but the food was cooked to order. The staff was one of the friendliest around.
Peanut got his wings with a touch of heat. He traded his uncle for one of the hot ones! Gotta love the facial expression:)
In the days following, we bulked up on veggies to counter the fried foods!!
