We did not take lots of pictures at the swim meet. It is a memory we'd like to erase. It was very hard to watch Pumpkin swim. I just felt so sorry for him. He was a trooper, though. This experience may have said more about his character than any other meet to date. That ankle just prevented him from swimming like himself. During the 1000 yard swim, his good friend actually lapped him. They are normally swimming stroke for stroke battling it out until the very end. If I had been Pumpkin, I would have stopped in the middle of the swim, climbed out of the pool and started crying. He didn't. He just kept on swimming. His coaches were supportive too. It is probably going to take a few more weeks for his ankle to be back to normal. This meet marked the end of the short course season. We are all looking forward to the start of a healthy long course.

I'm sorry it didn't turn out like normal. I'm sure he knows that it wasn't because he isn't good... he's still injured. Tell him to rest up now!!!
